“Schumann” VcSCB carbonfibre bows are visually appealing, with cleanly-finished ebony frogs featuring Parisian eyes and colourful mother-of-pearl inlays. The sticks have an attractive, dark grey “braided” finish that is increasingly familiar to devotees of carbonfibre technology. The performance, relative to the price, is a stand-out, with a clean, crisp spiccato, excellent articulation at the tip during fast string crossings, and a steady, smooth legato. All in all, these are bows that are hard to look past.
