Thomas Warren was trained in violin making by Ian Sweetman before becoming one of new Zealand’s most prominent and productive violin makers, establishing a reputation for technical excellence, beautiful tonal quality and great playability. This fine example was made at the height of his career, with a lovely, golden-brown varnish that enhances the handsomely flamed back. A broad, rich lower register is coupled with a warm but focused core and a very even response across all four strings.
